Lee Lucas Jupiter is one outstanding album and fine body of well crafted songs and work by Harvey. it also comes with a superb professional production from the man himself who has worked in this field for the past 2 decades producing well known music artists, as well as well known TV and films. Harvey is one fine musician and composer and as drafted in some quality musicians to help out to put this album together, including the likes of Bassist Danny Thompson. 100% golden quality I would highly recommend.

about

The long awaited new solo album from Harvey Summers is finally here! Until it's official release date which is March, 2013 when the CD version, limited edition deluxe CD with extra content and other download stores come on line, this is the only place you can get it! Pre-release CDs are now available exclusively through bandcamp!

A stunning and beautiful collection of songs and instrumentals, straddling the worlds of earthly life, wilderness and snow and that of the metaphysical, spiritual and cosmological! Harvey's unique and refined production style creates a deep and engaging sonic landscape which features guest musicians including the great bassist, Danny Thompson, Drummers Sacha Trochet and Liam Genocky as well as a brass section led by David Holt.

Speaking of his unearthly, deep, dark, spacey sound, Harvey explains; "I wanted to make a record where every single sound, every element was played by a musician, recorded organically but then processed and treated with various effects and treatments such as echoes and harmonisers, to create living, breathing textures, a complexity of sound all coming from the point source of a musical performance. So there are no synthesisers or samples on this record at all, except for the moog taurus bass pedals which I use in place of bass guitar on some tracks as I love it's deep, sonorous sound".

Jupiter is an album in the true sense of the word. While tracks are of course available separately, it is a finely crafted work that unfolds naturally over it's entire duration, so to hear it at it's best, you need the whole album! Especially since many of the tracks segue into each other.

Very much a personal statement, this is Harvey doing what he does best. We hope you enjoy the journey.

P.S. Note that when previewing the tracks here, they are very low quality mp3's, It's worth downloading the flac version of the album as some mp3s have trouble encoding the super deep bass Harvey has featured on Jupiter which may result in distortion. Get the biggest file you can, indeed go large! One more thing, bandcamp encode their files in such a way that tiny gaps are inserted at the beginning and end of songs, but this should be a gapless album as songs flow continuously into each other. To get around this, I have created a 'bandcamp' version of the album where each track is stand-alone. If you find this to be a problem, drop me a line and I'll send you a version of the album without bandcamp's gaps added! Thanks.
